School locker rooms take a beating. Wet cleats, heavy foot traffic, moisture, cleaning chemicals - the floor has to hold up to all of it, day after day. That's exactly why Monticello High School needed something more than a basic floor coating. They needed a system built for the long haul.
We went with a Domino flake system installed over an epoxy base, then sealed everything with a polyaspartic top coat. That three-layer build is what makes it work. The epoxy base bonds tight to the concrete and gives you a solid foundation. The flake broadcast gives you texture and visual depth. And the polyaspartic on top is what locks it all in - it's tough, UV stable, and resists the kind of chemical and moisture exposure that would wreck a lesser floor.
What we ended up with is a floor that covers every square foot of this facility - locker areas, bathroom stalls, hallways connecting the spaces, all of it. No seams. No weak spots. The Domino flake color blends nicely against the red lockers too, which is a bonus.
This is the kind of job that reminds us why we do what we do. Facilities like this serve hundreds of students and athletes every single week. The floor can't be a liability. It has to be clean, safe, and durable enough to go years without issues. That's what a proper flake floor system delivers.
Whether it's a school, a gym, a warehouse, or any other high-use space - if the floor is taking a pounding, there's a right way and a wrong way to coat it. We take that seriously on every job we touch.
